iOS Devices get Google’s Voice Search App

Google’s Siri, a voice search app for iOS devices is finally here. Google annoucned in its blog that it just launched new Google Search app for iPhone and iPad that will do voice search just like Apple’s Siri does.

Acknowledging Google’s new Knowledge Graph for enabling better voice search Google gave a few examples of questions that Google can answer.

  • “What does Yankee Stadium look like?” Google will show you hundreds of pictures instantly.
  • “Play me a trailer of the upcoming James Bond movie.” The trailer starts playing immediately right within Google Search.
  • “When does daylight savings time end?” The answer will appear above the search results, so you can set your clock without having to click on a link.
  • “Who’s in the cast of The Office?” See a complete cast list and find out who made you crack up last night.

The Google search app seems to be nicely integrated with Google maps, giving users a better Maps option than the current iOS map app. Visit Apple’s App store to download Google’s search app
