Google is celebrating the birthday of the famous Polish scientist Marie Curie on its search page with a special Google Doodle. Marie Curie was born on 7 November 1867 in Warsaw Poland. In the Google Doodle, Marie Curie is the second “g” in Google and doing an experiment.
Marie Curie is well known for her discovery of radioactivity. A not so well known fact about Marie Curie is that she set many scientific records. For example, Marie Curie is first person to win two Nobel Prizes; one for Physics and the second in Chemistry.
Marie Curie shared her first Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903 with her husband Pierre Curie and Henri Becquerel. She went on to win the 1911 Nobel Prize in Chemistry without sharing with anyone. Marie Curie was the first woman to win to a Nobel Prize, the only woman to win in two fields, and the only person to win Nobel Prize in multiple sciences.
