Google is celebrating 100th birthday of American comedienne actress Lucille Ball with a special doodle made of good old TV box playing Lucille Ball’s TV shows. Lucy was born on August 6, 1911 in Jamestown, New York and had an illustrious long career in radio, TV, and films.
Google’s TV Box logo for Lucy lets you do channel surfing and watch six of Lucy’s shows. And yes the TV logo also lets you adjust the volume. The Google TV doodle also has a CC option that takes you to YouTube video Lucy Ball’s Job Switching.
Celebrating Lucy’s 100th birthday with a doodle, Google said
“Lucy may have been born 100 years ago today, but her jokes are timeless. Having grown up with the comedic genius of “I Love Lucy,” it’s hard to believe that Lucy, Desi, Fred, and Ethel wrapped up the initial series in 1957. Lucy’s creativity, absurdity, and ever-changing facial expressions (especially when she was scarfing down candy, stomping on grapes or touting a new energy drink) have brought joy and laughter to generations of viewers.
I can’t get the tv to work…
