Acer announced that it is expanding its Iconia tab line of tablets with a first 7″ Android Honeycomb tablet, Iconia Canada. The Acer Iconia Tab A100 comes in two flavors one with 16GB of memory for $349.99 U.S and $399.99 CAD and the second with 8GB of memory for the price of $329.99 U.S. and $349.99 CAD.
The new Acer Iconia Tab A100 is ultra-portable with weighing less than a pound and its sleek design makes it convenient to handle with one hand and take everywhere. Iconia Tab A100 runs on the latest Android Honeycomb and is powered by NVIDIA Integra dual core processor with 1GB RAM. The tablet comes pre-installed with Adobe Flash Player 10.3.
The Acer A100 has a 5MP rear-facing camera with flash that can capture HD Video at 720p at 30 frames per second and a 2MP fixed-focused front-facing camera and webcam for video chats.
The Acer Iconia Tab A100′s 1530 mAh Li-polymer battery can last up to five hours during Internet browsing with WiFi, up to four hours for web-streamed video and up to 4.5 hours during 720p video playback. Acer’s battery is for sure a far cry from Apple iPad’s solid 10hr battery life.
Acer Iconia Tab A100 can connect with any other DLNA-compliant device to share your photos and videos quickly. It also comes with a Micro-SD card reader that can read Micro-SD cards with a capacity up to 32GB. Acer Tab also boasts of bluetooth connectivity to enjoy the benefits of headsets and keyboards.
Acer hopes that the A100 will be the single device for gaming, fun, entertainment and staying in touch on the go for families. Introducing the new Iconia Tab A00 Sumit Agnihotry, vice president of product marketing, Acer America, said
