Motorola announced that it will be launching Photon 4G, its first 4G smartphone with Sprint this summer. The Motorola Photon 4G is powered 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and it runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Motorola boasts that the Photon 4G is made for on-the-users around the world for both business and personal needs.
Photon 4G features a large 4.3 inch touchscreen with Quarter High Definition display. It comes with 16GB memory and it is expandable up to 32 GB SD card (totaling 48GB of space). It also features dual cameras – 8MP dual-LED flash camera with front-facing webcam and VGA front-facing camera for video chat. It also has 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capability that can support up to Wi-Fi eight devices on the Sprint 3G or 4G networks.
The mobile hotspot will also support one Wi-Fi device while roaming internationally on GSM in the future with a software update. Although Motorola announced that the new Android smartphone will be available in this summer, it did not provide any details on its pricing. Motorola will announce the final specs and the pricing when it is ready to launch.
Business Class Motorola XPRT is on Sale with Sprint
Motorola announced that it will be expanding its portfolio with Sprint this year. Sprint and Motorola joined hands to launch Motorola XPRT earlier this June. Motorola XPRT is the first Motorola Android smartphone from Sprint to “deliver enterprise-class security, personal productivity enhancements and international roaming”.
Motorola XPRT is available for sale in Sprint Stores (www.sprint.com) for $129.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade and two-year service agreement. Motorola XPRT is designed and made for business class with the following tech specs
- Compact design built on Android 2.2, Froyo.
- High-resolution 3.1-inch HVGA display with physical QWERTY keyboard
- 5 megapixel camera with camcorder and dual LED flash for low-light performance
- 2GB memory card included, supporting up to 32GB
- Corporate email (Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync®), personal (POP & IMAP) email and Quickoffice for opening Microsoft Office™ documents
In addition, Motorola Titanium, smartphone built on Android 2.1, will be available in late summer. And in May, Motorola launched Motorola XOOM with Wi-Fi for $599.99
