Google Attacks Facebooks with Google+

Google is building Google_ keeping privacy in mind. Google says in real life people form circles with group of friends, family and more. Google+ brings in the real people circles to online with +circles. Making a direct attack at Facebook and other existing online social networks, Google said

today’s online services turn friendship into fast food—wrapping everyone in “friend” paper—and sharing really suffers.

Google did not stop with that, but went on to call the exisiting social networks as sloppy, scary and insensitive.

It’s sloppy. We only want to connect with certain people at certain times, but online we hear from everyone all the time.
It’s scary. Every online conversation (with over 100 “friends”) is a public performance, so we often share less because of stage fright.
It’s insensitive. We all define “friend” and “family” differently—in our own way, on our own terms—but we lose this nuance online.

Inspired by how people interact in real lives, Google announced that Google+ will have a number of features that exactly mimics real life to make the online social networks a real one. The real life-like features include

  • +Sparks: to create sparks to strike up a conversation, about pretty much anything
  • +Hangouts: just to stop by and say hello, face-to-face-to-face,
  • +Mobile: to share what’s around, right now, without any hassle.
  • +Instal Upload: to instantly uploading and sharing your pictures
  • +Huddle: to enable group messaging within circles,
  • +You: to put you above everything.
  • Google is rolling out Google+ by invitation only now. Visit http://www.google.com/+ to learn more and request an invitation for you.
