MusicBetaGoogle Google Launches Music Beta by Google at 2011 Google I/OGoogle announced at its developer conference 2011 Google I/O that its finally launching its long due Cloud Music service in beta. The new service named, Music Beta by Google, is very much like the Amazon Cloud Drive and lets user upload their personal music collection to the cloud. It allows streaming the personal music to computer and Android devices. Music Beta by Google is available by invite for free for a limited time to US residents.

Google’s new digital music service allows users to keep their music and playlists in sync automatically. So, once a play list is created on a phone, it is available anywhere, on your computer or tablet. It is eve available offline. Google stores the recently played songs on the Android device and also users can choose to make specific albums available offline. Unlike, Amazon Cloud Drive google does not offer a way to buy music online yet.

Google teased its Google Music service during 2010 Google I/O and it wanted bring record companies into its fold and wanted to compete with Apple iTunes. However, Google got into trouble with record labels to agree to its terms. Now, after being scooped by Amazon, Google has finally unveiled a product that falls short of what Google wanted.
