Apple’s next genration iPad 2 is here. And recently Motorola joined hands with Google to launch Motorola Xoon, the first tablet running on Android designed for tablets. Reviews of Xoom were pretty good. Although it was widely perceived as bit pricey, it was considered as a worthy competitor to iPad.
Now Apple has launched its new iPad 2 for the same price as old iPad. Although there is no review of the new iPad 2 yet, the general opinion is iPad 2 might still continue to dominate the tablet market without a viable competitor this year. During the iPad 2 special event, Steve Jobs mocked the lack of competition for iPad by saying “Competiors are flummoxed”. He went on to take a dig at the hurried efforts all of iPad’s competitors to bring their new tablets by saying “2010 was the year of iPad”, but the “2011 might be the year copy cats”.
At the first look iPad is thinner, lighter and cheaper than Motorola Xoom. Here is detailed comparison of Xoom and iPad 2 to help you decide what you need.
