After a number of rumors with price ranging from $800 to $1,200, Motorola Xoom tablet gets a price for real. Reuter reported that Motorola Xoom with 32 GB storage and 3G capability will cost $799 with contract from Verizon. Motorola Xom 3G is upgradable to 4G when it is available. The Wi-Fi only version Motorola Xoom will cost $600. The pricing details were confirmed by Motorola Chief Sanjay Jha later.
Both Wi-Fi and 3G models of Motorola Xoom has the same 32GB storage space. The cost of Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi, with advanced tech specs but similar storage space, is the same as Apple iPad Wi-Fi. On the other hand, Xoom 3G costs $70 more than Apple iPad 3G (32 GB). Motorola’s Chief Sanjay Jha defended the higher price of Motorola Xoom over Apple iPad said that the ability offer higher speed costs that much.
Motorola XOOM is the first tablet to run on Google’s new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, the first Android version specially designed for tablets. Motorola XOOM has 10.1-inch widescreen HD display, a dual core processor, a 2MP front-facing camera for video chats over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G LTE, as well as a rear-facing 5MP camera that can capture videos in 720p HD.
