It seems Google is on a hiring spree. For a report, Reuters literally counted the number of jobs available in Google across the world and found that it has 2076 job openings. Yes, Google has jobs from more then 2000 people. It is kind of surprising given that Google already has more than 23,000 people employed across the world.
The Reuter’s job counting report raises an interesting question. What about Facebook? Facebook has been growing at a crazy rate and gobbling up the internet usage market share. And Facebook has been unveiling one product after another. It would seem that it will need more people as the products grow. Is Facebook also on a hiring spree?
An easy job counting expedition in Facebook revealed that Facebook has 329 job openings across the world. Surprise, Facebook has offices in 23 cities across 13 countries. Most of these jobs located in Palo Alto, CA (179), Dublin, Ireland (71), and Austin, Texas (27). Facebook says it has more than 1700 employees. With these many hirings Facebook will grow by 20%. Given its smaller size, Facebook is definitely hiring more.
