Facebook today launched a new product called Facebook Groups, which tries to solve one of the most common problems that Facebook users face. In real life, we have different group of friends and share specific information with each group.
Currently, if you want to share certain information only to a specific group of friends, say your weekend basketball buddies, in your Facebook account, there is no way to do it. You either share it to all your Facebook or don’t share at all. Facebook Groups solves this “share all or nothing” to friends problem. Facebook groups allows users to create groups easily and share certain information easily.
Launching the revamped Groups, Facebook Chief Mar Zuckerberg said
It’s a simple way to stay up to date with small groups of your friends and to share things with only them in a private space. The default setting is Closed, which means only members see what’s going on in a group.
From this space, you can quickly post photos, make plans and keep up with ongoing conversations.
Facebook also made it easier to be in touch with your Facebook Groups. Now one can do a group chat with the members of a group and email to the members of a group easily.
Facebook Lets User Download Their Information
In addition to Groups, Facebook launched a feature in Facebook that makes it easier to download all your Facebook information. The new feature lets users download everything that one posted and the correspondences with Facebook fiends including wall posts, photos, and profile information. One can get a copy of all in a single download and go to account settings to find more about downloading.
Facebook Gets a New Dashboard
Facebook launches a new dashboard to provide users more visibility to what information is shared by applications and websites. The new feature will also let users when an application accessed your information. Launching the new dashboard, Mark Zuckerberg said
