AdMob’s Interactive Ads Come to Android

android logo 300x225 AdMobs Interactive Ads Come to AndroidGoogle announced in its blog for Google Mobile Ads that Google’s AdMob will be bringing interactive video and interactive interstitial ads to the Android platform. Google said interactive ads have been one of the demands from from both advertisers and Android publishers. Google said the interactive ads on Android will help advertisers reach a cross-platform audience and help the Android publishers to maximize their revenue potential.

AdMob launched the first interactive video ads in November 2009 for iPhone. AdMob’s platform can identify the screen resolution, size, and network connection speed and serve users the optimal ad viewing experience. Google said

Extending rich media interstitial ad units to Android creates an exciting opportunity for mobile advertisers to reach a much wider audience across platforms and devices. These interactive ad units have proven to be extremely effective in engaging users on iOS and we look forward to helping our advertisers reach more users than ever across platforms.

Not all Android apps will get these interactive ads. Google said AdMob interactive ads are reserved for developers of the most popular and engaging iOS and Android apps for now. These ads can be placed at app-open or in-app. Google said CBS Mobile is excited at the availability of the new interactive ads and Philippe Browning, Director of Advertising and Operations at CBS Mobile, said
