T-Mobile unveiled its first smartphone T-Mobile G2 for its new HSPA+ network. The smartphone G2 with Google is specifically designed to deliver 4G speeds on T-Mobile’s new HSPA+ network.
T-Mobile’s new HSPA+ network covers more than 55 major metropolitan areas across USA. T-Mobile boasts that HSPA+ delivers downloads at 4G speeds of today. Although HSPA+ is not a 4G technology, the speed offered by it matches today’s available 4G speed.
T-Mobile G2, the successor of world’s first Android phone, is an ultra-powerful smartphone designed by HTC. G2 has a large 3.7-inch screen with a full QWERTY keyboard.
G2′s speed is powered by its 800 MHz Snapdragon MSM7230 mobile processor with Qualcomm’s new HSPA+ capabilities. G2 has a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus.
G2 smartphone also features an HD video camera for recording high-definition (720p) videos. G2 has a 4GB internal memory with pre-installed 8GB micro SD card. And its external storage is expandable up to 32 GB. G2 also features Swype for fast text input.
T-Mobile G2 is powered by the latest Android 2.2 and it offers seven customizable home screens. G2 is one of the first first phones to offer Google’s new Voice Actions search feature.
Best Buy Begins G2 Pre-Orders on September 10
T-Mobile announced that G2 will be available in the U.S. exclusively from T-Mobile. T-Mobile will offer its current customers, an exclusive access to preorder the G2 smartphone starting later this month. T-Mobile did not reveal exact date of availability and the price of G2.
However, Best Buy announced that T-Mobile G2 with Google will be available for pre-order starting Friday, September 10. G2 Pre-orders can be made at any local Best Buy or Best Buy mobile standalone store. G2 will be available at stores in October 6 for $199.99 with new two-year activation.
