Google made yet another acquistion on social side. This time Google acquired a social gaming company SocialDeck with bases in Toronto and SanFrancisco. SocialDeck was founded by Anish Acharya and Jeson Patel in 2008. SocialDeck has its own social gaming technology platform that lets create games from iPhone, Blackberry, and Facebook and facilitates viral distribution and monetization.
SocialDeck created successful games like, Color Connect, Shake and Spell, and Pet Hero. These games allow simultaneous social gaming experience across multiple mobile devices and social networks. The company website says that its vision is to enable “anywhere, anytime, anyone” gaming.
2009 was pretty successful for SocialDeck: it raised its first round of financing from Blaberry partners fund and it saw over a million downloads.
Announcing the news of its acquisition by Google, SocialDeck said it is super excited that Google found SocialDeck as useful as its users.
