Google has unveiled a new way of creating apps, called App Inventor, for Android smartphones. No, its not yet another programming language to create an App. App Inventor is probably the easiest way to create an App as one does not need to know programming to create an App using it.
Google says
To use App Inventor, you do not need to be a developer. App Inventor requires NO programming knowledge. This is because instead of writing code, you visually design the way the app looks and use blocks to specify the app’s behavior.
Google has created App Inventor, which has blocks of codes that can do almost all the things an App might need and an easy way to put together these blocks to create an App that is in your mind.
App Inventor: Easy to Use and Powerful
Although App Inventor is simple to use, with no code written to create an app, it does not lack any major functionalities one may need to create a useful app. App Inventor
can access GPS-location sensor easily and therefore one can write apps that use location information.- has a database and one can create an app that needs to store information.

Google says not everything used in App Inventor is Google’s idea. Google used prior research done in the area of educational computing to create App Inventor and thanked them for allowing to stand on their giant shoulders to create App Inventor.
