Apple Updates iMac

Apple introduced new powerful iMacs with Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors. The new iMac also features a separate and advanced discrete graphics card to make it suitable for games, photos, and 3D applications.

The new iMac comes in two sizes, with 21.5-inch or 27-inch LED-backlit display with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio.   The core processors in the iMac has an integrated memory controller that can access the system memory directly. With this feature the new iMac can take full advantage of its faster 1333 MHz memory.

The new 21.5-inch iMac starts at $1,199 and its tech specifications include;

• 1920-by-1080 resolution
• 4GB (two 2GB) memory
• 500GB hard drive1
• 8x double-layer  SuperDrive
• ATI Radeon HD 4670 with 256MB
• iSight Camera
• four USB 2.0 ports
• one SDXC SD card slot
• one FireWire® 800 port
• built-in stereo speakers and microphone
• Wireless Apple Keyboard, Magic Mouse
• Mini DisplayPort output port with support for DVI, VGA, and dual-link DVI

The high end iMacs are configurable to the fastest ever with dual-core processor speeds up to 3.6 GHz, quad-core speeds up to 2.93 GHz and discrete graphics including the powerful ATI Radeon HD 5750.

All iMacs come with Apple’s Magic Mouse and one can also get the optional Magic Trackpad from Apple to enjoy the touchpad experience.
